About the Course

The Southwestern Ontario Implant Mini course is designed to give doctors the solid background to begin treatment planning, implant placement and performing the prosthetic portion of treatment. In this intense 10-day program, participants will take part in 1 Hands-On lab and perform 3 Live Patient procedures.

This program meets the RCDSO minimum requirements for dentists to perform implant therapy.

 

Participants will learn:

  • Patient selection and evaluation

  • Treatment planning

  • Pharmacology, physiology and wound healing

  • Radiology and CBCT based treatment planning

  • Step by step implant prosthetics and implant occlusion

  • Grafting materials

  • Immediate implants

  • Implant surgery, flap design and suturing techniques

  • Second stage surgery

  • Socket preservation grafting

  • Full arch

  • Advanced digital dentistry

Speaker: Pierre Obeid, DDS 

Dr. Obeid was educated at the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Dentistry. He has been practicing general dentistry for over 20 years and is licensed in the Province of Ontario and the State of Michigan. Dr. Obeid is actively lecturing and mentoring dentists and denturists the skills needed for proper communication, collaboration and efficiency in the surgical and prosthetic phases of implant dentistry. 

Some of Dr. Obeid’s skills include 3D-Digital dentistry workflow strategies, CBCT data prescription, acquisition and interpretation, CADCAM software planning and design, 3D printing and technology, dental technology, equipment and devices, surgical and prosthetic phases of implant dentistry, and multidisciplinary approach to complex treatments. 

Dr. Obeid is Certified in Intravenous Sedation, is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology (DABOI), Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (DICOI), Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (FAAID) and a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD
