Team Bios
Chris Pow, President and CEO
With a degree in engineering from Queen’s University and a diploma in Finance and Accounting from Sir Wilfrid Laurier University, Chris joined the Pow Laboratories Inc. in 2002. He had previous experience at Deloitte and Touche, Descartes Systems Group and MKS in Waterloo. Chris feels it is an exciting time in the dental laboratory world with rapid advancements in both the technology and materials. Pow Laboratories has made significant investments over the years to ensure it remains an industry leader. Chris shares “It has been a privilege to carry on the family tradition and to have such a great group of people here at Pow Laboratories who have helped the Company provide excellent products and services to our customers.”
Hassan Solker, R.D.T., Vice President
Ghulum Hassan Solker was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa where he completed a four year Dental Technology program. Hassan joined Pow in 1999 as Team Leader of Orthodontics. In 2007 Hassan obtained his RDT certification and in 2009 became the Laboratory Manager.
In 2018, Hassan was appointed the Vice President of Pow Laboratories. Courses that he has completed are Dr. Skip Truitt’s Clinical Foundation of Orthodontics, Orthopedics and TMD, The Wilson 3D Modular Orthodontic Appliances, The Bond and MacDonald Canadian Straight Wire program, The Alf, Bego Cast Partial Frame Design. He is available to consult on CAD/CAM applications, Orthodontic designs, Denture and Frame, Crown, Bridge and Implant treatment planning. As part of the dental community, Hassan takes great pleasure in knowing that every day we literally put a smile on someone’s face and make a difference in their lives.
Shelley Miller, Operations Manager
Shelley joined Pow Laboratories in 1997 and started her career in areas of Removables and transferred to our Crown and Bridge Department in 1998. Her technical skills were inclusive of CAD/CAM design, ceramics, a graduate of Las Vegas Institute Smile Design program, metal design and later management of the Fixed Department. In 2014, Shelley took the role of Technical Sales & Customer Relations Manager. Shelley developed a connection and understanding of our client’s quality and service needs, maintained communication of developing products and was the contact at various Industry Events.
In March of 2020, Shelley was promoted to the role of Operations Manager at Pow Laboratories. Shelley holds education certificates in areas of Management and stays current in her studies of digital dentistry, dental technology and product development. Shelley’s diverse career gives her a strong knowledge of dental technology. Her professional career has evolved as a result of her strong focus and passion to continue learning and inspiring our technicians to continue to achieve their goals as leaders in cosmetic dentistry.
Natalie Ryan, Administrative Manager
Natalie Ryan began her career with Pow Laboratories in 1984, and over the years has been a part of our Customer Relations team, Sales and Marketing, Accounts Payables and our organizer and coordinator of registration for Continuing Education programs. If you have confidential inquires, need info in opening a new account, changes to an existing account, interested in attending a Continuing Education program, or scheduling a tour, Natalie would be happy to assist you.
Technical Consultants
Oli Silasi, RDT
Born and raised in Transylvania, Romania, Oli was trained and certified as a dental technologist with a degree in Dental Laboratory Technology from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Iuliu Hatieganu" Cluj - Napoca. Oli further specialized in aesthetics, fixed prosthetics and implantology, attending numerous courses lead by various European dental opinion leaders. In 2016, Oli relocated to Canada and in 2019 he passed the Registered Dental Technologists Exam and he qualified as a Registered Dental Technologist. Oli joined Pow Laboratories in 2017 and is available for case consultations, technical support on implant cases, chairside assistance. Oli is fluent in English and Romanian.
Brett Bhooshan, RDT
Bharat (Brett) Bhooshan was born and raised in Fiji where he completed 3 year Dental Technology at Fiji School of Medicine. He completed his post grad training in Orthodontics from Otago New Zealand and completed his RDT exam in Melbourne Australia in 1982.
Bharat started his career at Pow Laboratories team in 1988 and held the key role of PTC training and development and Quality Control for all areas of the laboratory until 1999. He received his RDT designation in 1996. In 1999, Bharat continued his career at Cambridge Dental Arts as the Production Manager. In 2000, he opened Premier Dental Labs Inc and worked there until amalgamating with Pow Laboratories in 2021. Bharat passed the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Exam (AACD) -Specializing in “Comprehensive Dentistry “and Treatment Planning in 2009. Bharat holds specialized training in Implants and attachments, Advanced ceramics, Advance Occlusion Concepts in removables and fixed, CAD/CAM design and applications to dental technology. Bharat has over 42 years in dental technology and is available for chair side assistances on simple to complex cases, trouble shooting in all disciplines of technology in case consultations and ensures quality control at the laboratory.
Katie O’Brien, RDT
Katie O’Brien is a Technical Consultant with her focus being on Quality Assurance. Katie attended Fanshawe College where she graduated from the Dental Assisting Program in 2015. Katie returned to school at George Brown College for the three-year Dental Technology program and received her RDT designation in 2019. Katie is available to assist clients with case consultations, provide quotes and treatment plan options.
Rhonda Munro, C.D.A. Level II Technical Administrative Assistant
Rhonda Munro is our Technical Administrative Assistant. Rhonda joined our team in 2018 with 25 years of dental experience as a Level II Dental Assistant, working most of those years in orthodontics. Rhonda is responsible for in-office and in-lab custom shading, setting up new client accounts and assisting our Technical Consultants with quality control calls.
Department Managers
Agnieszska Kudzia, Orthodontics Manager
Agnieszka began her career at Pow Laboratories in 2000, and was promoted to Team Leader of Orthodontics in 2008. Agnieszka is committed to continually updating her studies on appliances and techniques, and the philosophies of Orthodontic treatment. Course studies include but not limited to, Dr. Rondeau Seminars and Dr. Wilson 3D Modular Orthodontics. Whatever your appliance requirement, Agnieszka is available to assist our clients with case consultations and speaks fluently in English and Polish.
Daniel Cairo, Removables Manager
In September 2019, Daniel Cairo was promoted to Manager of the Removables Department. Daniel is a Dental Technician graduate from the Faculty of Dentistry Udelar University in Uruguay. He has worked as a dental technician for over 25 years. Prior to joining the Pow team, Daniel spent 12 years running his own Chrome Casting Dental Lab and worked in various laboratories in the GTA area. His experience supports the training and development of our removable team and ensures our products are meeting the needs and requests of our customers.
Bumsik Song RDT, Crown & Bridge Manager
Bumsik has been working in the dental industry for 30 years since graduating from Shinhan University Dental Technology in Korea in 1992. Prior to immigrating to Canada, Bumsik owned a dental lab in Korea for 16 years.
In 2021, Bumsik received his RDT designation and was promoted to the Manager of our Crown and Bridge Department. Bumsik concentrates his studies on how to create a ceramic crown that is close to natural teeth. He has created many successful full-mouth rehabilitation cases through the reconstruction of ideal occlusion. Bumsik is focused on creating perfect crowns through more research and effort in the future.
Vickie Ford, Customer Relations Supervisor
Vickie started her career at Pow Laboratories in 2006 as a Customer Relations Representative. She continues to be a face our clients recognize when she assists with in office deliveries.
Vickie’s vast experience and training in the customer service industry prepared for her current position as Supervisor of our Customer Relations department. Vickie is available to advise on prebooking cases, account receivables, provide preliminary quotes or to schedule a pick up of your next case.
Danielle Denault, Human Resource Manager
Danielle Denault, is the Human Resource Manager at Pow Laboratories with over 23 years of related experience. Danielle holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brock University and two post graduate certificates from Mohawk College - one in Human Resources and one in Industrial Relations. She also has a post graduate certificate from Western University in Conflict Management and is currently completing a Bachelor of Education in Adult Education from Brock University.
Danielle is a member of the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) and a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute (ADR). Danielle is a Human Resources Practitioner.
