About the Course
The Wright Clinic is a not-for-profit, community-based dental clinic managed by the London Community Dental Alliance (LCDA). The first of its kind in London Ontario, the clinic launched on April 6, 2021. A team of dentists, dental hygienists and dental assistants work collaboratively from a health equity framework to provide dental care to individuals facing barriers, such as income or housing insecurity. The Wright Clinic is funded through donations, community grants and in-kind contributions by volunteer dental professionals, including dental specialists, dental assistants, and dental hygienists.
The LCDA was formed in 2018 in response to the growing demand for an accessible dental clinic to support the oral health needs of vulnerable Londoners. Dr. Ken Wright is the catalyst who gathered a small group of dedicated community partners and dental professionals to actualize his vision of an accessible dental clinic that operated 5 days a week to serve London’s most marginalized community members.
