 Ceramist (Level 3A)  

Summary of Job: A qualified individual is required to complete all Crown & Bridge (Fixed) simple and complex ceramic cases as well as all simple and complex light cured composites. Duties include; builds up all types of ceramic cases including large bridges, implant cases, all ceramic crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers. Completes build ups, contours to specifications of all types of light cured restorations. Other duties include; providing necessary coverage, training of other employees, maintaining stock, cleaning workspace and equipment.

Summary of Equipment: Work requires knowledge of dental materials, techniques, anatomy and esthetics. Ability to use of all dental articulators and equipment in Crown & Bridge Department.

Summary of Qualifications: Proven experience and success in current position; Preferably a minimum (5) year of related education or work-experience of tasks related to Crown & Bridge. Relevant knowledge, skills and abilities of the tasks noted in lower level positions. Proof of Ontario Secondary School Diploma (O.S.S.D) or equivalent is required. Preference will be given to those who hold related education or experience as a Ceramist.    Proven experience and A proven ability is required to work with forms and colours. Excellent knowledge of dental occlusion, anatomy and morphology is preferred. Strong hand/eye coordination required. Strong manual dexterity skills required; good knowledge of products; proven understanding of materials, techniques and esthetics is required; understanding of systems; possess specific knowledge of proper measurements and details for various clients will be necessary, excellent listening skills; demonstrated ability to work under pressure; ability to work independently and in a team environment; good problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail; and the ability to multitask, meet production scheduling deadlines and quality control objectives. Ability to work with various computer technology is preferred. Knowledge of dental morphology and landmarks is essential. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to work overtime. Minimum O.S.S.D. Preference will be given to those who hold related education/diploma. Ability to sit for long periods of time This position requires the candidate to have the ability to do frequent additional hours and overtime hours. Bona fide occupational requirement that the candidate pass colour blindness test.  

This is a full-time contract position, inclusive of probation. The hours of work are between 6:00AM –11:00PM. A schedule will be developed by the Manager. Hours may range between 8 – 10hrs per day. The job rate for this position is $28.20.

Prep Technicians (Level 1A)

A qualified individual is required to complete all preparatory work and simple tasks related to prep Ortho and Removables, including but not limited to, articulating, pouring, trimming models, set bites, polishes, pumices, duplicating models, study models, investing and packing. Assist with other job functions. Other duties include; training of other employees, maintaining stock, cleaning workspace and equipment. Work requires use of various grinders, motors, lathes and instruments.

Proof of Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent. Preference will be given to those who hold related education or experience. Preference will be given to those who have proven experience and success in current position. Basic understanding of dental anatomy is preferred, strong manual dexterity skills required, specifically with use of plaster, waxes and acrylic resins. Experience in investing and packing of impak splints and completing study models preferred. Specific knowledge of products and materials preferred; understanding of systems preferred; ability to work with lathes and instruments preferred; computer skills; excellent listening skills; demonstrated ability to work under pressure; ability to work independently and in a team environment; good problem-solving skills; ability to work overtime; strong attention to detail; and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. A basic understanding of related dental materials and techniques is a necessary asset. Standing is required for many of the operations.

This is a full-time permanent position, between the hours of 6:00AM –11:00PM.  Orthodontic Technician (Level 1B)

Summary of Job: Qualified individual is required to complete all acrylic and trimming on simple Ortho appliances and bends simple clasps, to bend ball clasps and reinforcements for night guards; acrylic for all appliances, trims all appliances; repairs night guards; assist with other job functions which could be on a temporary basis in same job rating level or lower; assists with training of other employees. Other duties include, maintaining stock, cleaning workspace and equipment.

Summary of Equipment: Work requires use of various dental motors, hand pieces, lathes, heaters soldering machines and instruments.

Summary of Qualifications: Proven experience and success in current position; Preferably a minimum (1) year of related education or work-experience of tasks related to Ortho. Relevant knowledge, skills and abilities of the tasks noted in lower level positions. Proof of Ontario Secondary School Diploma (O.S.S.D) or equivalent is required. Preference will be given to those who hold related education or experience. Good understanding of dental anatomy and related dental materials, strong manual dexterity skills required for intricate bending, specific experience with use of wax and acrylic; good understanding of various parts and assemblies; specific knowledge of products and materials; understanding of systems; ability to work with lathes and instruments; computer skills; excellent listening skills; demonstrated ability to work under pressure; ability to work independently and in a team environment; ability to work overtime a must; good problem solving skills; strong attention to detail; and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.  Acrylic Technician (Level 1B)

Removables

Summary of Job: A qualified individual is required to conduct all tasks of the Acrylic Technician position. Duties include; bite blocks, custom trays, bleaching trays, mouth and sports guards, repairs fractures, repairs broken tooth, repairs clasps and all simple repairs; relines, simple tooth additions, clasp additions, invests dentures and chrome, and any other similar basic appliances and blue dots, assist with other job functions which could be on a temporary basis in same job rating level or lower; assists with training of other employees. Other duties include, maintaining stock, cleaning workspace and equipment.

Summary of Equipment: Work requires use of various types of specialized equipment, including but not limited to, various waxes, acrylics, chemicals, bunsen burners, hand pieces, lathes, grinders, scalpels, knives, and small tools.
