Temporization and Achieving Prosthetic Excellence in the Esthetic Zone

Presented by Dr. Jason Bortolussi

Dr. Jason Bortolussi completed his dental training at the University of Minnesota in 1996. He then obtained a certificate and Master’s degree at Minnesota for the specialty of prosthodontics in 1999. In 2004 he became a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He worked as a prosthodontist in Minneapolis until 2003. He now resides in London, ON and has his own private prosthodontic practice and provides all aspects of the specialty.

Real Life, Real Materials, Real Dentistry

Presented by Dr. Martin Mendelson

An evening program.

    

Dr. Martin R. Mendelson is an alumnus of the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery and is the Director of Professional Development for Vident, A VITA Company. Dr. Mendelson is the former Director of Education for Americus Dental Labs-Clearwater. He lectures internationally on color science and dentist technician communications. Dr. Mendelson has written numerous articles and serves on the editorial advisory board for Spectrum Dialogue. He is an adjunct clinical faculty member of Nova Southeastern University and Volunteer Faculty at the University of Southern California School Of Dentistry. Dr. Mendelson serves on the ADA Standards Committee for CAD/CAM in Dentistry and serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Dental Laboratories’ Foundation for Dental Laboratory Technology. Dr. Mendelson is a member of the ADA, NADL, National Speaker’s Association and the Crown Council.

There is no one size fits all solution in the confusing world of dental materials today. What are the major classes of materials, how are they made and when should they be used? This decision should be made with one of the most valuable members of your team: The dental technician. How can you best communicate with your technician? What steps and or systems can be employed to reduce variability and increase predictability?

By the end of this presentation the attendee will:

  • Understand the types of laboratory fabricated restorative materials available
  • Understand the general processes to fabricate these materials
  • Understand what minimum information thetechnician needs to fabricate a high quality restoration.
  • Understand the Five Steps Method toward predictable communication and results
